You should drive it around for a couple of weeks.

Oh I will, but I like to exploit the potential.. I always map my cars - the ones that would benefit. My 3.6 was mapped and it drove very well, I'm just not sure I will see the benefit of having the 4.4 if it has a stock tune after having a well mapped 3.6..

My 3.6 ' felt ' quicker than my 4.4 does. Whether this was just a feeling or not , im not sure but i drove them back to back and 3.6s throttle response was much better. I'm having my 4.4 mapped soon , just haven't had time so far and will report back. 2015 4.4 AB

@dolph34 Best budget for a new gearbox then as mapping the 4.4 takes it over the rated torque load for the gearbox - loads of info on here if you do a search. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17 |

Just had a chat with BAS, they won't tune the 4.4.. he told me that 700nm is plenty and not many folk map them. 2010 FF 4.4 TDV8 Vogue - Gone

The maximum gearbox input torque is already lower than the torque the standard engine produces...

a lot of conflicting info on this subject..
http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic4809-30.html Some folk have mapped the 4.4 and there are tuners quoting figures around +70bhp and 840nm etc.. I understand it must be a risk otherwise no one would be saying it. I'll see how the car goes in stock form first. 2010 FF 4.4 TDV8 Vogue - Gone 2007 FF VSE 3.6 TDV8 - Gone 2011 RRS HSE 3.0 TDV6- Gone 2003 FF TD6 Vogue - Gone 2006 FF TD6 - Gone 2007 FF 3.6 VSE - For sale 2011 FF 4.4 TDV8 - Current |

When you see 'no issues at all...', shouldn't that be 'no issues at all...yet!' |

If your tuning for speed , then i agree with buying a faster car but it's more about driveability especially throttle control which in my humble opinion the 4.4 lacks 2015 4.4 AB
