drivers electric seat after battery change

Hi folks

bit of a strange one for you - Just replaced my battery with a shiny new AGM and the beast starts like never before..!

However - I have lost all control of the drivers seat positions. The buttons do nothing. The heating/cooling works, the door mirrors work when adjusting them but they too have stopped working when reverse is selected.

I've checked fuse 42 (30amp) and although it looks fine, I replaced it anyway - nothing...

Any clues where to check next - Nothing changed on the car so I doubt something came unplugged.

Thanks Ash

A little update but still not fixed.

I had another look at fuses today and it appears the drivers seat has 2 (42 and 46) both 30amp. I checked/changed both but still no luck Sad

What I can say is that if I move the seat buttons "during start up" (almost instantly the car starts - kinda like the boot up period) i get some seat movement - It lasts for a second or 2 and then stops and then won't work again until I turn the car off and start it again - again I only get movement for the split second during start up...

Seems it has power but during the start process it loses its signal to the Drivers Seat Module..?? (just guessing here) The Lumbar controls work fine all the time as do the seat climate controls.

Any ideas anyone.? Ash

You might need to fault reader Ash.

The seat might be sending back a "not happy" message allowing you to use it for a split second but then the controller shutting down for protection.

Good luck,
Greg Cheers, Greg

or you need to do the full battery reboot thing. I think you disconnect battery then wait for a bit then touch the (unconnected) pos and neg leads together.

***Disclaimer I am only vaguely remembering it, please research before doing this*** Cheers, Greg

is passenger seat workin?
when i was playing with my seat buttons ( Embarassed ) and moved seat all the way back than all the way forward the seat stop responding. with it all the way to steering wheel i could not get in the car. after first panic, moved to passenger seat and it was working ok.( ignition off) went back to driver side and it started to work. i was able to replicate same thing again.

hmm - thanks all

I did the battery reset thing a couple of days ago - no joy there.

Passenger side works fine - I didn't;t touch the seat (certainly not move it all the way in any direction before it packed up)

Thinking about it - I was 1 of 2 things things. Either as a result of the battery change OR as a result of me messing around with IID tool post battery change.

I "told" the car it had a new battery and an AGM one at that. I probably made a few other changes but have since confirmed the drivers electric seat option is set to fitted - there is only one option I believe (although I seem to remember a previous choice of 12 way or some other version which I don't see now)

Will ping our friends at GAP to see if they have any info.

Thanks Ash

Go back in with your IID and you have a “reset factory CCF” setting at the bottom of the front page...

Reset to factory settings and i bet the seat will come back to life sir Thumbs Up

Bow down I'm not worthy Mr Craig... (we knew that already though)

I'm always dubious about doing a full reset incase everything breaks and the car is unusable - on this occasion however - I was a brave boy... Rolling with laughter

It worked ..! all back to normal - I remembered to note down some of my other settings and configured those after I checked all was working again.

Thanks Craig Ash
