Steering angle sensor replacement

Evening all - so my new steering sensor has arrived finally to rid me of the Christmas tree dash and can faults...

So questions I have are as follows:

The abridged exchange of this that takes around 30 mins as opposed to the 4 hours - what are the steps?
If I can get it coded what do I need to swap over exactly?
How the hell do you align it? I can see two more splines are different but what if I spin it clockwise to fit instead of anti clockwise?

Many thanks!!! Current stable:

You must have very dexterous and double jointed limbs Very Happy
No way know could I do it in that time. I tried it and found the top 2 steering column retaining bolts hard to get at . UI ended up taking the dash apart just to refit them so they wouldn't cross thread.
