Non of those symptoms are very good or cheap to repair.

I hope your warranty covers it especially as it sounds like whoever serviced it last has caused the issue.

Millennium range rover specialists Surrey last serviced it and look to be the ones who put the oil in and overfilled it, assuming no one touched it since, of which I can not see they have from my records.

Given I only bought it two weeks ago, it has a three month warranty and I have a right to refund currently

is it somme oïl on accessory belt ?

on one side or two side of accessory belt can you see somme string?

you can test with water on the belt, if the noise stops it is a wrong alignement. if a roller (or the four) is defect, the belt is worn on one or two side. change all roller and tensionner and belt.

To know if the oil is diluted with diesel, you can do a stain test.
A drop of oil on a paper. There should be no halo around the oil stain after two hours

Nope not right, doesn’t sound pulley or belt related to me.

No idea what it is, but it sounds more top end tapperty noise to me. I would be round that with a listening rod and try to isolate roughly where the noise is coming from.

Personally I would send it back and get a different one. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The cause of the issue is still unknown and the garage have taken the car back and agreed a replacement. They have since swapped the fuel pump and it made no difference.

Well there's a strong argument for buying from a reputable dealer.

I have a replacement car from the garage. They tried the fuel pump, tensioners and oil change but noise still there apparently. LR believe it is warn tappets, but who knows!

I appreciate this is a very old thread, however does anyone know whether the original videos are still accessible somehow? I'm really keen to see whether this noise is the same as what I have. Thanks
