I have extended my Land Rover warranty three times since the original three year one and in they time I have never paid for any diagnostic work , In fact once when I hade a mysterious EAS fault the car was picked up by transporter and taken three hours to Glasgow and then tested , no fault found so it was transported back to me . In the mean time my curtesy car was droped off and then later picked up . All this at no cost to me and I have done it several times , so no you don't pay for diagnostic test, maybe some dealers are more flexible with the rules . 2008 MY Supercharged

After enquiring earlier this week about Land Rover Warranties, there are two available, the first is equivalent to the original warranty and "covers everything" and the other a 3rd party policy that is resold by the dealership........I was quote £950 for the 'Land Rover' Option and £750 PA for the 3rd Party.

As I seemed to have the crap one, and DID have to pay for diagnostic work I'd never have one again. And this was the one that comes with a 3 year old "approved used" vehicle sold by a main LR dealer. Yes, that's right. Approved used... and I had to pay the diagnostic charge... If one was available that was as good as the original 3 year warranty, I may have taken it out previously when the crap one expired. But then I'd have been £800 out of pocket at the end of the year anyway. |

Only on a Ford Galaxy. Wiper mechanism failed at 26,000 miles. They claimed it wan't covered (was for wear and tear) so after 30 minutes of arguing and threating to go Auto Express magazine they paid for it. Basically every warranty company I've ever used make life difficult. They want you to give up and off so they can earn out of you. So take one out if you are happy to have an argument everytime you need to claim. But I'd never pay for one again. Sure, you may lose out... but on average you won't. That's how they make money. |

DO NOT Touch Warrantys Direct for love than money!!, I tried to get wwarranty on my altenator and the gearbox, both was a waste of time and effort, sale very helpfull till warranty department are contacted, then complete, rip off and refusal to pay out on anything.

I have mentioned this elsewhere but I also have a warranty with Warranty Direct, and my experience was good. Although not cheap, it covers wear and tear and turbo cover. Diff failure on my TDV8 and they paid up no quibbles or issues. On the strength of my experience I would recommend them. |
