Just to add my changing thoughts on these two.
I would not buy the Diesel now, to much negativity so would be much more concerned about values.
So i would go 5.0sc or would have done had i not decided on the SVR as i now want petrol. Embarassed

Did a bit more soul searching and changed my order for the SC in the end, AB spec means I can have leather headlining too!

https://build.landrover/F5233FB2#.WgxBfwE6BBA.email

Deleted the executive seat option and I'm not sure the dogs would fit in the back with it. They are quoting delivery in May on the SC now, so if I can get to see one before the build I might change back.

I knew you couldn't resist a SC Smile

Notice you have also selected the Wood/Leather steering wheel option - great choice.

I also reviewed the LR PCP end of term values for the VSE versus an identical spec'd AB (in terms of added options), and there is 'only' £3k difference over 3 years. This suggests the AB with more spec overall depreciates 'just' £1k per year more than the identical making it a 'bargain'. Using man maths that is. MY23 D350 HSE

Yes, it's a shame not to on the AB. Went for the Ash finisher too, as I though the wood was a bit too 'old man'

Will let you know how I get on Phil

Hi-

I bought the new 4.4L and passed on the 3L option, & seems from reading here it was the right thing to do.

If you go for diesel and are visiting the man himself, try and persuade them of the errors of their ways... they reduced the tank size from 105L to 86L against my 2012 version..... similar Range for a tank of fuel, but irritating as I had anticipated I would be able to travel to Scotland and back on a tank of diesel with the better mpg , well almost.
The petrol has the larger tank, but is thirstier I therefore guess the Range for petrol/diesel will be similar to diesel/86L tank.

Petrol or diesel ? You will know more about it all after Wednesday’s speech by Phil. Notwithstanding that, I bought diesel , eyes wide open. NOT at all noisy... in my view nothing to worry about on that issue.
I don’t understand the motor companies silence on the nox issue... they invested a great deal of money in production, and the emissions for modern diesel v modern Petrol are similar.

When all is said and done, you are spending 100k on a car, the extra 10 k , for running costs, this way or that way over 5 years doesn’t matter.

Finally don’t get the enhanced cruise control, will drive you nuts and destroy your mpg for reasons given by others. I’m not sure if you loose any other features by not having it.

Good luck and enjoy

Bill

Pixel,

I am pretty sure the budget changed the tax on diesel post March 18, if you plump for that option then u may want to insist on pre March delivery or similar... not sure if it’s all diesels or just below a certain euro standard. Maybeworth checking it out.

Rgds

WHOOPS it’s april and a separate thread on the budget

Sorry Phil, but I'm currently unable to update you on the test drives arranged with the VIP Configurator at Land Rover, Solihull.

As previously mentioned, I had a factory visit booked at Land Rover Solihull on Wednesday the 22nd of November, but was contacted a few days prior and asked to re-schedule for 2 weeks later..... This was apparently because the car spec's I wanted to see were currently unavailable.

Strange........ Seems they still managed to find time for these two visitors on that exact same date!
