ive a splitter in my cubby box the one goes to the bluetooth sender and the other a lead and some times i plug the old ipod in,that works fine, no saved music on my phone but can play the tune-in radio app through the lead on my 6plus iphone with no issues have you checked the volume up i forget at times. _____________________________________________________

You should be able to stick a 3.5mm jack cable into the socket, turn the volume up and hear a hum when you grasp the other end of the lead with your fingers, effectively shorting out the input.

There is a bit of chatter (google) about the 3.5mm output not always working correctly (or at all) on iPhone 7s. The check recommended by Mike is a good one if theres a buzz the the car end is OK Geoff |
