I'd go for a slightly better quality than Britpart - try a local motor factors for Mann+Hummel or UFI. |

On all vehicles I tend to use genuine parts as a matter of course. In some cases OEM equivalent parts are good enough. But, for example - An original air filter from the manufacturer does tend to have a greater surface area than aftermarket parts.

I own a defender as well and the chap who looks after my defender won't touch anything from britpart, they don't seem to have the best reputation, like someone else said above either try genuine or 'allmakes' now do a 'premium' or something like that! range which is supposed to be good, they might be worth a try |

Yep - defo none critical parts. I'd rather set my nuts on fire than use their bits on anything linked to steering , suspension or brakes.

It's worth noting that Land Rover do not make these parts. It's also worth noting that the quality of Genuine parts often leaves a lot to be desired (Especially the BMW parts) - to the extent that some of the 3rd party parts are better quality than genuine because they have been re-designed to not fail within warranty etc. |

yea, land rover will mostly contract it out and add profit to the costs, although you would expect tighter quality control from them.

I've worked in and managed repair shops specializing in MB, BMW, Porsche, and LR in the US and in Europe (including main dealers). You need to do more research. Unless you have too much money. RRC 2Dr, RRC 4Dr, P38, and 2 L322s (wife thinks I'm nuts - prob right, too) |

I service my own and I get the oils and filters from Opie Oils with a club discount. Other consumables that are needed I get from whichever supplier that has the best deal and postage rates going at the time. |
