Nasty, it sounds like the metal disc guard is getting involved or the caliper is loose or pads are loose in the caliper.
Are they drilled or vented after market discs and did you degrease them before fitting.
Not sure what anti rattle device you have on yours but on mine is a large spring clip.
I'd be taking the wheel off and having a look, is it both sides?
Sorry bit of a vague reply

They are aftermarket drilled/slotted/vented rotors, I de-greased them before installing. Anti-rattle clips are in, the set came with everything the factory would come with.....................This is happening on both sides, all I did was change the rotors and pads. I'm stumped!! Confused

sounds like the pads and discs are still too new and not bedded in yet. I get a similar sound sometimes after I've washed the car ... it goes away after a few brakes. Have you taken it and done a bed in procedure ?

i.e. upto a high speed, then sharp brake down to *almost* stop, then repeat about 5 or 6 times to get some real heat into the brakes to get them bedding in.

key item is to not stop though after a hard brake.. if you do that then the pad sits on the same piece of disc and that section of the disc binds too much with the pad. So keep the car rolling to give time for the pads and discs to cool, then come to a stop. V8 or else ...

.Kingsteng,
new brake pads and rotors need breaking in to work well.

Fellas,
I understand the whole brake bedding procedure, its just this is the first time I have ever heard a noise like this and I've done plenty of brake jobs over the course of the 20+ years......I will eventually figure this out........thanks for everyone's responses!! Thumbs Up

I personally wouldn't worry about it. I just think its stiction from the new materials that still have to bed in properly. Keep us updated to see if it goes once the car has had a bit of a run. V8 or else ...
