update , my insurers called to tell me they were waiting to see how I wanted to proceed ? to which I replied , " I want my car repairing " they informed me I would have to claim off my own insurance before they would chase the 3rd party and recover my losses and then informed me that I would lose my 250 excess !!!! wtf ? so an old bat smashes into my FF and it costs me 250 quid !? how the **** does that work , I argued it out and they have decided as there is no dispute that she caused the damage , they will wave the excess ! grrrrrrrrr |

And your premium will rise because you’ve claimed - fault or no fault.

Contact the Third Party Insurer direct (Her insurance company). Providing she has reported it that is. You will need her policy No & Registration.

Yeah, your 'No Claims Bonus" will be reintstated, however that is simply a discount on your policy cost. Your policy cost will go up because you have had a claim, and often by a considerable amount. Say it is £1000 now, and you have 50% no claims discount so you pay £500, next year after a claim it may be £1400, you will still get your 50% discount but you will be paying £700. I would as said above speak to her insurer. Porsche 911 (996) 2015 BMW 5 Series Touring Not got a LR of any kind at the mo, and got itchy feet. |

That’s exactly what happened to me. I argued that I was told that my no claims discount wouldn’t be affected and my premium wouldn’t rise - but the premium did go up, considerably.

I had some woman make a false claim against me and I fought it myself through court.

Just to say that it is a very bad idea not to speak to your insurer after an accident..regardless of who is at fault. Doing that will invalidate your cover as you will have failed to disclose a relevant material fact and they will know that because the accident will still be logged on the insurance industry database of accidents if it is going through the other party's insurers.
