Morning all,

Not posted in a long long time and this post is probably more to do with reasurance?

As some of you know i had and still have the battery drain problem since last year but I've just been chargering the car at night to battle it.

Yesterday the Wife said enough was enough and booked it into a garage near home (K & K Autos ) in Stevenage.

She explained to them the problem and he said he would check the starter/alternator and also run a diagnostic and check for faults?

She also mentioned about the FSR as we have that part but my hands are too fat to fit it when i tired back in summer this year.

Im just worried that i will have my pants pulled down later today or tomorrow wheb they call back.

As i said at the start of the post, im just looking fot reassurance and see if theres anything i should ask them when the call?

Garage update...they just called!

After doing checks on the alternator and starter motor all is fine.
The diagnostic thou came back with 60 faults, 40 of which habe been cleared but the others are storaged on the ecu.

The battery itself has been damaged and is running on 1 less cell apprently caused by jumping.....
Anyway new battery will go in and they can have a look at the final faults.

They said if they cant fix or find the fault once the new battery is in then a trip to a main stealer will be in order as they can update/upgrade the ecu?

The later sounds expensive

Finding the drain is actually pretty easy, just takes an hour or two to track it down and £10 worth of kit, multimeter or clamp meter.
