Bargain 855mm lift jack -can anyone recommend the weighting?

I've spotted this for sale in my eternal internet search for a decent high lift Jack for the Fatty, given the epic articulation when it comes to jacking the big old lump up and the time it takes up and down several times with railway sleepers and my bottle jack - not to mention ball ache!

https://www.sgs-engineering.com/garage-equ...olley-jack

British built, good warranty, 1500kg lifting capacity, which is a lot less than the FF weighs, however according to RAVE is the minimum recommended lifting capacity.

Has anyone else used a jack of a similar weighting? Anyone currently using a trolley jack that has issues fitting on the rear cross member jacking point that sits between the exhausts? Currently the bottle jack slimly fits!

Buy one of these…Mercedes Sprinter jack & modify it as shown.
It lifts all four corners sufficiently to remove the wheels easily.

Thank you, but it doesn't really answer my question - I'm interested in a trolley jack and want to know if it will be practically enough to lift the FF and if anyone has any practical experience lifting from the rear cross member?

Thank you Stan. Does your's not fit under the central cross beam between the exhaust?

Almost a metre of lift has got me excited and wondering if anyone else has used a 1.5 tonner..

I've used my 3 ton jack on the rear cross member. I used a cut up piece of H iron and a block of wood to get between the exhausts. It was a bit of a fag to do but I was putting the whole car on axle stands, not just changing wheels. It worked ok with plenty of height to get the wheels off the ground.

Yes, that would do the trick.

Don't think you need a precision engineering solution. You could use a cut off railway line even.

I have a Halfords 2.25 tonne jack and a draper 3 tonne jack. The Halfords jack really struggles to lift the RR, a 1.5 tonne jack is really going to struggle 56 TDV8 Vogue SE
