Do you have towbar electrics? You can plug a charger into the white socket if you get a plug.

I had the same problem, hooked up my -ve jump lead to earth under the FF, then pulled out the driver's side repeater, cut back the wire sheath and attached the +ve to that, it did melt the wire back to the loom but it got the door open |

(I later discovered a wire tucked under the bumper attached to the +ve terminal - the previous owner must of had the same problem) |

I've read about jacking up the front and connecting a battery to the starter motor main positive and to ground somewhere exposed on the chassis but never tried it or looked at how accessible it is.

Not a lot of help now but it surprises me that as this is a well-known issue, 15mins of effort can give a quick and easy point to attach a battery charger. One of the first things I did to mine was run a fused cable from the battery to a female plug behind the grill. If needed I have a ready made lead to plug in.

Like the idea Wayne but aren’t those connectors a bit small for the draw, or are you thinking just to attach a battery charger?

This would be for connecting a battery charger or a solar panel to charge the battery in an emergency, not to jump start the car obviously. Cheap insurance. 2007 TDV8 VSE
