Evening all (theres a tv program in there) heading back down to France to look at regions - heading to La Rochelle to show swmbo then on to Perigueux then to Bordeaux any suggestions of hotels in area? |

I've never used any in Bordeaux, but it kind of depends what you want.

Must admit Alistair as we have gone round France looking at areas I usually use their Mercure Hotels as they are cheap enough and the standard is usually the same - so we don't get influenced by the Hotel. Will probably do that and do 2 or 3 days in La Rochelle then same in Perigueux then the rest in Bordeaux. They all have a Mercure |

ace and akeana are clean ,normally newish basic hotels...camponile hotels usually have fenced car parks...

Agree for the chain hotels but for privately owned hotels, especially the smaller ones, it is worth asking direct as they are often cheaper. Update on trip it was busy as took in La Rochelle Dordogne and Gironde driving around every day but well worth it as we feel we may be narrowing the search for an area to buy in and at present are looking at the Gironde so the next trip will be one where we base ourselves there for ten days or so and might manage to reduce the area again
