Interlock code-emergency de-activation

Hi,

Has anyone seen a screen message looking for a four digit code, along with "emergency de-activation, wait 9.59" after battery disconnection? The first time this happened the timer counted down and the vehicle started after 10 minutes, but now it won't count down! I've contacted a recommended specialist and they've not come across this. Thanks.

Hi Simon,

I haven't done any electrical work to the vehicle, apart from pulling a few fuses to try and find out what was flattening the battery. (6 amp draw with ignition off)
My Faultmate FCR is showing loads of communication faults, which it can't clear.

Cheers,

Gerry.

Hi Gerry,

Found this on the web, read down the page a bit and someone describes a method whereby you disconnect then reconnect the battery then lock and unlock the door with the key etc etc..

https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthr...please!!!!

Good luck my friend........ ______________________________

Thanks for that link Simon. I will try this afternoon - if the rain ever goes off! Gerry.

Alistair, thanks for that link. This, like the one from Simon pretty much duplicates my symptoms, what mystifies me is that the specialists I have spoken to don't seem aware of this emergency interlock code. It is apparently a BMW aberration and was maybe only on the early L322s! Gerry.

Simon, Alistair, unfortunately locking and unlocking with either the key or the remote failed to make any difference. Thanks anyway. I am now going to phone round the dealers to see if anyone has experienced this problem before. No point in going anywhere where they have to waste time going through the same routines I have been through already! Gerry.
