Landrover said they couldn't reset the fault so can't see an IID doing it. |

in short on the turbo drain mod, it was never a recall, was a tsb and LR would honour it if the car was under LR approved warranty, however out of warranty you may struggle to get it done by LR at their cost. the fact it has caused damage to the DPF is kind of irrelevant from their point of view I'm afraid. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

One of my turbos has an oil weep, being monitored and to be checked at next service, drain mod would be the solution. I was told it was eight hours work and that as my car is out of warranty there would be no contribution to the cost from LR, even though it is a design fault. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

Last year my MY2012 4.4 TDV8 went to the full red warning about the DPF full. Took it main dealer and they diagnosed a manifold gasket that had split that they said had allowed the DPF to get full with the dirty air and soot. They repaired the manifold but as the fault had totally clogged the DPF they said they couldn't regenerate and the only option was to replace the DPF filter at a cost of £2.5k - I got a clean done at a local specialist for £400 and it hasn't caused me any trouble since! |

Used a company called Terraclean (I'm pretty sure that's what it was called) in Warrington on a non LR Car. Again the Manufacturer said it was irreparable and I'd need a new one at £1400 (Skoda Octavia) in the end they did a good job for £250. It did happen again 12 months later but this is because he should have a petrol rather than diesel and a local garage sorted it for half of that price. |

This will sound far more simple than you may believe but, try doing a hard battery reset (maybe need to do it a few times) and almost always the red light will turn to amber on reconnecting the battery... if it does, DO NOT turn the car off! Go for a drive immediately at 50ish MPH for a couple of miles to self regen...
