Rear brake pads yesterday and YES, a b****y wheel nut wouldnt take the socket which was duly hammered on. Then off came the socket and the nut and 3 people took over an hour to seperate the b****y thing. Who decided to shoe a wheel nut with a crappy chrome cover ? The designer wants his nuts tightening !

Yesterday - Loaded a fridge, three suitcases and a Maclaren buggy into the back - Domestic Zero and I delivered them to our daughter's house in Basingstoke in readiness for her wedding the week after next. Before we set off though, had to disconnect the speaker in the top of the dash - as soon as I turned the ignition on there was a horrendous buzzing noise, even with the radio switched off.
Today - based on another post found in the forum, stripped out what I think was the sub-woofer and checked the multi-pin plug - green & manky! Cleaned out with WD40, cotton buds and air duster, put back together and no buzzing noise . . . . at the moment! Also discovered that the bolt that's meant to secure the spare wheel is missing and one of the plastic covers in the boot floor has seen better days - might account for the small amount of water inside the boot floor. They've now become the nearest crocodiles to the canoe!

Yesterday and today, changed the 4 rear sub-frame mounting bushes. Hard work, but very satisfying. Just got the top hub ball joints, rear anti-roll bar drop links to do and something up front needs sorting as well but haven't even looked at that yet. Drives:

Just finished trying to cure my sticky brake caliper, one of the sliders was solid so hopefully with new rubbers and a clean of the pin, all will be good now!

Had to use a make shift tool for winding back the caliper!

Got me site sticker on!

Not in the car,but because it was raining so hard, spent most of the day logged in to Topix, hoping to download the Service Bulletins.
I paid the subscription, then the site crashed before I could get started and spent the rest of the day trying to get my money back.
Eventually I got it refunded, but it was to late to try again, so a wasted day.!!

Water pump being replaced on monday.. horrible noise from old one..

And then next day cars going in under warranty to auto gearbox place to have the torque converter replaced under warrently and seems the replacement one is totally and slipping and cattlegrid noise all come back really badly..

I generally come on here for help but this time I thought I'd say how impressed I am with my full fat after today.
I left home this morning at 4.30 with my transporter trailer to fetch a car for a friend from Glasgow. We got back this afternoon after 520 miles covered. To say I'm impressed is an understatement it's an epic tow vehicle and with a return of 30.6 mph on the way up and 28.4 on the way back with a xr2 on I am quiet impressed. It's been along day and if I had to do it again tomorrow I wouldn't think twice about getting in and heading off, it's such a comfortable vehicle.
I did have one bug bear with the trip, the cruise control kept coming up with front rador failure and saying driver intervene 👎

Took it for the MOT today,

Passed with no advisorys 😀, Always a good feeling.
