35 mins all in, 15/20 mins on A1/A1m, then 20ish on A61, absolutely horrible flogging the engine like that! But definitely not speed but revs required! Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

you don't have to rag the engine to get rid of the dpf warning, a steady 50mph for approx 20 mins will do it.....that worked for me... ... - .- -.

My turn of phrase maybe not the best Stan, but to me doing 2.5/3k revs is ragging the engine! In the 4.4. I was only doing 55/60 mph in lower gears. Very uncomfortable process Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

thats why the second turbo gets gunked up with oil and hence the drain valve modification...

I think the handbook says that a period of driving at about 55 - 60 is the way to clean the DPF, rather than holding the revs high. I have oil seepage from one of my turbos, but no smoke, presumably because on Scottish A roads one has opportunities to get revs above 2,500 when overtaking after having been stuck behind slow moving traffic. I have sent a PM to the LR crc account asking for the technical support department to confirm the best way to regen the DPF.

so my DPF light came on again - it's only been 6 weeks (see above) since last DPF blast....
Anyone know a bit more about this? . Cheers, Greg - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 2011 Vogue SE 4.4 with lots of toys in Stornaway |

to clarify, you do not have to drive in sport mode or high revs to regenerate the dpf, just a steady drive at 50mph for approx 20 minutes... ... - .- -.

That's what although badly I was trying to say Stan. I just wanted to keep the revs up a bit as I only have about 15 mns on the motorway then A roads. Easier to do it on the motorway. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE
