The shift interlock solenoid should be de-energised by the application of the foot brake i.e. the transmission ECU cuts the current when it receives a signal from the brake switch. The transmission knows that it’s in ‘P’ or ‘N’ via the inhibitor switch. Is ‘P’ being displayed on the instrument panel?

Too late to look now, to be honest i was kind of assuming it was the trf box causing issues.

Transfer box ECUs typically appear on eBay for £20-£25 so it’s not an expensive thing to test by substitution if you suspect that yours is faulty. I generally think of the ECU as being the least likely cause of any issue, though I suppose they must fail occasionally?

It is a strange one, it knows what position it is in, but makes no effort to move it. I checked power to ecu and that was good, relays looked good to.
