Central locking not working

I dont know if this is connected to my interior light post, but after a problem with the battery discharging yesterday I cant get the central locking to work on either the remote or manually. I have tried the battery re-set and the turn ignition on/off press unlock then lock three times whilst holing the unlock button on the remote (has worked before) but there is no response from the central locking and the red led on the remote flashes 10 times - is this a code? Could this be connected to the interior light problem? QUID FACIUM TIBI

My CL wouldn't work either I had my key fob renewed but couldn't get the central locking to work, I also noticed my cigar lighter didn't work, checked the fuse in the rear panel and changed it, checked the fuse for the central locking it had blown. Fuse changed everything worked once I had done the key reset. Just a thought.

Thought about the fuses for this and the interior light problem - the thing is the handbook lists the fuse as also controlling the windows and they are working. I will have a look tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed.... QUID FACIUM TIBI

Bcu controls this function and may need replacing - it's under the passenger seat.

Unnecessary quote removed

Hi
My windows worked without the fuse, I hope it's just the fuse rather than the BCU. Let us know how you get on.

Checked all the relevant fuses today and all are ok. The central locking/alarm set works with the key but not with the remotes even after the correct re-sync procedure. None of the courtesy lights are working, that is the rear tailgate/rear passenger(can be turned on manually)/front passenger(cant be turned on at all)/puddle/door mirror & glovebox lights. The map lights do work and the glovebox light worked for a while after I removed/replaced one of the central locking fuses accompanied by a whirring noise from the centre console, but then it went off. Would a vehicle electrician be likely to have the correct software or am I likely to need to go to a JLR main dealer? QUID FACIUM TIBI

Are your front wipers working? Sounds like it's partially in transportation mode. Failed or failing bcu?

As far as I can tell, everything apart from the courtesy lights and the central locking works. QUID FACIUM TIBI

Job done. Went to a local sparkie with the correct software and he sorted it in five mins. £45 well spent (by which I mean it gets SWMBO off my back). QUID FACIUM TIBI
