If you fancy a bit of easy casual cycling, the quiet single track road along the south bank of the Loire near Amboise is fantastic and you can sample a few different Loire whites as you pass the many Caves. (Happy days ) G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

Switzerland is very nice but quite expensive. I agree that the route to the Loire Valley is not a run down the motorway but the route itself is part of the trip and less motorway toll expense. Just an opinion. John

I went skiing for a day there last year. Had a day at the Geneva Car Show and then next day hired a car and drove 38 minutes and was in the resort of La Clusaz. Ten minutes to get skis and pass and then spent whole day on slopes before driving back to catch my flight... La Clusaz

Spot on Weegie - I'm going for the drive No better car for it. Except the fuel bill of course, but if I was that worried I'd take the TD4 Freelander *Insert Vomit Emoji Here* |
