Steps

Hi all,
Got one side working but how would I fine out if they had separate fuses or which are the fuses as I can't seem to see which are the fuse for them ,would it be obviously one of the spare ones but it does not stand out. I have also been told it might need resetting at the dealers on lap top ? Current tdv8 range vogue 07

On mine there is only one fuse for the whole system, its the first of the large fuses, F61 30A green fuse on the far right of the fuse box behind the glove compartment. MY2007 S/C - Stornoway / Jet

Decided since it was a nice day for a change that I'd have a go at fitting my deplorable steps today Thumbs Up

First things first, stripped out half the front of the car to get the wiring loom installed. First wire to connect up is the main power connection onto the back of the fuse box under the glove box. Having unplugged the big black plug from the back of the fuse box, "that's funny" I thought, "there's already a big red cable in what is supposed to be an empty slot". Further investigation soon revealed that the car did actually have the loom already in place!!!

All that was missing was the actual steps and the switch in the roof panel. Connected the steps and, nothing, no worky!
Further investigation revealed that the 2 big plugs going into the step ECU had been disconnected! Reconnected these 2 plugs and voila, success!!! Thumbs Up

Why anyone would have done this is beyond me but the long and short of it, is that the steps are now fitted and working great! Bow down

So, if anyone is looking for a completely unused loom and ECU for an upto MY10 car, give me shout and I'm sure there's a deal there to be done Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Since my CCF nightmare, I've been slowly getting back to normal and 1 thing I've found is that my steps are no longer deploying. The IIDTool sees the RDM ECU, which controls them and looking at the live values, it can see me opening and closing the doors, but no step deployment.
I tried another RDM module and checked all fusses but to no avail.

My question is, has anyone who retrofitted the steps have to do any CCF changes to make them work, as Patrick from Gap and I have been wondering if there's any coding work needing done, that was lost when my CCF was restored. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

When connecting the steps for the first time, they need to be put in access mode. You need to keep the DSS button held WHILE you turn the ignition as pictured above. Press the button first and then turn ignition, this should liven them up. Jordan

Fantastic gents! That sorted it!
Because my car already had all the bits except the steps installed, I didn't have to do that bit, so didn't read it in the install guide.

Many thanks Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Anyone got the 'user manual' for these rather than the install manual as I understand you can lock them open or closed but couldn't see anything on how to do that in the manual and someone suggested that there was an additional amendment of that but can't find it on Topix?

Thanks.

Thanks Stan.

I had seen that but was concerned by the person saying it wasn't working for them but will try it.
