Locked out of car!?!

Small problem actually big problem - Range Rover has gone completely flat think I left the light on forget that it doesn't have sensor, any way it's so flat it won't unlock but what's worse it that I tried the key in the drivers barrel and it won't work and I can't see a key hole on the boot lid or passenger side - any ideas how I can get in?

charge the battery through the towing socket if you've got one.

Failing that access the alternator or starter from under the car and attach to the +ve lead and charge. Current

Am I likely to blow any delta or control units charging by pin 4 or indeed the side repeater? Guessing the side repeater goes through the LCD so assuming no go but the towing electronics is that safe on a trickle? I have a caravan socket and an adapter for standsrd

I always charge mine with the towing socket. Have a CTEK and the adapter from Martin, via the Disco forum.

Out of interest, if 4 is positive I take it you use 3 as earth then, not one somewhere else? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

The lead came ready made from Martin, but I assume it uses 3 for earth.
I have also bought a CTEK, this was just a convenient old photo.

Ive done this a couple of times on 02 / 03 models works perfectly without probems.. from memory i earther to the underside of the car somewhere metal, If you need to get in and do not have the time to wait for the battery to charge and or cant get under the car the side repeater/ indicator is the go

I imagine it would also work on the 2010.. might have to try it one day... after seen that video above im going to see if there is an option like that on the 2010 tomorrow

England 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Sumatra Black

if you have a single trailer socket with a Black cover to it, then it does not work

but double 7 pin sockets do - use the white cover socket for power on Pin 4

https://www.disco3.co.uk/shop/tow-electric...c-p45.html

NB Please note that if you have ONLY a 12N socket (7 pins, BLACK cap) as shown in the 5th photo above it does not have the direct battery connection required - you CANNOT charge through this socket.

nice info on all this below
