please could someone advise me on the fault reported by my IIDTOOL :

VIN: SALLMAMA42A******
L322 - Range Rover 2002
Vehicle scanned on 10-04-2017 13:16
Using IIDTool BT V3.0 B2193

ECM-Engine (ME7.2)

0x43E Multiple misfire fault
0x439 Misfire detected cylinder 2

is this a problem about spark plugs, alternator or simply wires or contacts ?
what should i check and in which order ?

i must add that I cleared the fault and it has not appeared again since.

I am asking precisely because my engine default sign went off on the dash repeatedly 3 times during the last week, and i could not find out the fault using the IIDTOOL.
it went off again today,i could get the diagnostic with IIDTOOL, and so i am getting a bit concerned something might be wrong in the engine .

ok - maybe a bad batch of fuel ?

if its running okay now and not showing any codes thats the most likely explanation

if it comes back as cylinder 2 miss , could be plugs or coil pack

is there a way i can check the ignition coil using IIDTOOL ?

Swap the coil to another cylinder and see if the problem moves to that cylinder

A burgeoning faulty coil sometimes manifests itself when it gets hot. A friend had a similar fault on a Volvo and after leaving it at a dealership overnight they couldn't find the fault. When he was driving it home however it pinged up a fault. ______________________________
