You've both got TDV8 ffrr's why would you want to tow with anything else? Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Years ago I tried towing with a Jaguar XJ LWB (1998 model) and it was the worst tug I've ever driven. Wallowey and unstable which gave a ride so bouncy it made me feel sick. That was towing a 20 foot ski boat which isn't exactly heavy. Luxury cars they are, but definitely not towing machines. |

Anything that's geared to cruise isn't going to make a good tow vehicle, and as stated anything that's made to go down the road in comfort isn't going to work well either... A Range Rover is both comfortable and good for towing as it's a compromise between the two, and LR have spent years developing the ride... the same can not be said for Jaguar and BMW, who's expertise is big fast comfy cars... there's a reason why they're not type approved for towbars, the transmission and chassis wouldn't take the strain
