Hello lukie
If I'm honest I don't know 🙈
Basically I've tapped into the wires on the gear shift, tiptronic side, it works with the normal type of micro switch (the bigger kind with the metal lever on, I've got 2 wires for shift down and 2 wires for shift up and when I touch these it powers to shift up, sorry for my lack of knowledge 😀

Bumping an old thread with updated info.

For the MY10-MY12 install:

FYI the cable everyone wants is a standard 4 pin, 2.54mm spacing jumper cable. Right now they're easy to find on ebay as "arduino jumper cables" or something similiar.

I'd order a 20cm (8") flat cable as anything larger gets hard to stuff back in the wheel.

If anyone wants to build cables the LR connections are Tyco Electronics or TE MQS connectors. The slightly differing part numbers are indicative of which way the "L" goes as they are opposite.

TE Internal #: 3-1355397-3 Female to paddle shifter.

TE Internal #: 2-1355397-3 Female to steering wheel controls.

As mentioned before the steering wheel controls side is wired Left to Right starting from the "L" corner: red-gry-blu-blk. Match up the blue paddle side connector so it is also wired up red-gry-blu-blk.

I built a cable using spare parts a bit shorter than I should have but got it working.
