Number plate lights

Just replaced all my interior lights to led all working fine and a much better light now. Also changed the number plate lights which work ok but when standing at the back of the car to check them I could see a reflection of the LEDs on the paintwork under the number plate which is showing as a white light. Any one else had this or should I stop polishing the back of the FF Whistle The worst thing about being retired is you miss out on all the bank holidays

Lukie sorry for the delay in replying I have in up in the Lakes for a few days. Yes that is it, the reason for my concern about the white light to the rear is because on my last MOT I got a fail due to one of the diadem bulbs (stop and tail) which the SC have fitted was showing a slight white light because a small area of the coating on the bulb had come off. Replaced the bulb and got a pass the same day. I may consider putting the old bulbs back for the next MOT. But in the meantime the old bill should get a good view of my number. if they are there and they work sod them ! I'm actually think of removing my bulbs from factory number plate fittings and go for LED fittings inside the number plate / reverse camera surround

the LED's are mega bright but I feel give to much shadowing to my car

I see what you mean about the shadowing can you twist the bulbs more to face the number plate and see if that stops the shadowing I did it with mine to try and stop the reflection on the paintwork and it did light up the plate better but still reflects. As you say sod it The worst thing about being retired is you miss out on all the bank holidays

the conversion I did to my number plate lights were not bulbs but PCB insert's I purchased X5 ones and carefully removed the PCB and inserted them into my range rover lenses

the PCB's fit nicely into the range rover number plate light holders

the shadowing on my car is due to the number plate surround that holds a camera this sticks out 1.5-2 inch's
