Bimbling along the other day, the dash suddenly lit up like a Christmas tree. Susp inactive flashed up then HDC inactive. Then the car slowed like the brakes had come on
I checked using IID tool and it says right wheel abs sensor open circuit. The car then drove normally once the faults were cleared. However, stopping the car and restarting it a few minutes later brought the faults back with avengance. The brakes came on again and when I pressed the brake pedal I could hear and feel all kinds of weird noises and vibrations under the pedal. Felt like ABS activation.
I can't see any worn wiring to the ABS sensor so I assume it's the sensor itself. Anyone else had this?

Had this happen on my Disco 3 on the M6 - really unnerving! From memory the car had just under 100,000 miles on it.

Spoke to a technical guy on the D3 forum who straight away said sounds like a wheel bearing. Took it to local specialist LR garage who said won't be wheel bearing as they'd never had one go on a D3. Test drove it then checked the wheels and then decided it was a wheel bearing!

The way it was explained was that as a lot of the control systems are interrelated, once something goes wrong it cascades through the system triggering other warning lights, even though there isn't a problem with those particular parts of the car.

Sounds like a typical Range Rover.... lacks the correct words for the screen of doom so it just throws up half a dozen major faults to grab your attention... bit like HDC Inactive and EAS Inactive normally means the battery is low and needs charging  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I had all those faults after going through a large puddle which I put down to the cheap $hitpart ABS sensors I bought , I took them out and cleaned them and has been ok since.
The only other reason I could think of was earlier that day it had its MOT and had been on a ramp with its wheels hanging down which may have upset the height sensors. I kept clearing the faults and driving it and eventually it stopped putting the brakes on.
