To be honest, I’d be wary about having a torque converter re-manufactured for a second time. Both the main impeller casing and the LUC reaction plate have to have the old welds turned off and then are re-welded back into position. New converters aren’t cheap, I’m afraid. The last brand new F38 TC that I sold was for £550 and it’s around a 5 hour job to get the transmission out and back in again to replace it (though no specialist transmission knowledge is needed for this, so you could use any competent mechanic who you trust).
