Does 'Park' dissable parking sensors ?

Just changed from a D3 to the 08 TDV8 Vogue
on the old bus, during parking, if I put the shifter in P the sensors stopped beeping, it continues if Im close to something on the FFRR
Is that right ?

Hi Motoberg, I have both cars, and i'm afraid that the FF is a little backwards in that regard. Whats more, on the D3 if you go below 5mph it also turns the PDC on, even in drive. I really like that feature too.

Would be good if we could have both features enabled on the FF, but I think theres no chance. Would like to know if the 2010 and 2011 models have these features?? (PDC Auto on below 5mph, off over 5mph, also off when Park selected. )

Don't get me wrong either, I absolutely love my FF, best car I've had yet, by a long shot! Thumbs Up

Maybe not.....

After all,
It involves moving a finger...
What would the pressure of pushing the button would do on the skin....
It would mean extra food over lunch...

And a million other reasons.....

I have to turn mine off when I've parked. Do it automatically now. Drives me potty! Laughing

For 2011MY the sensors turn off when (P)ark is selected, if you then select drive it will come back on until going over certain speed (5-10mph).

It does not automatically come on when going under 5mph in (D)rive, need to press the button on the centre console. Only automatically goes on when selecting (R)everse, will however stay on when then selecting D again until going over set speed.

I like this configuration and would personally find it annoying to have the sensor go on automatically under 5mph as would constantly keep coming on in traffic. I think I know not to hit the car infront when at the lights etc. Laughing

for some reason i thought that when my rr was in reverse and the parking sensors activated, as well as the rear view camera coming on it also muted the radio/cd.
is this correct or was i imagining it ??
i ask the question because i'm sure they used to do this but don't now and the vehicles going in next week for various warranty electrical faults ..
any help would be grateful
