does radio/cd mute in reverse

for some reason i thought that when my rr was in reverse and the parking sensors activated, as well as the rear view camera coming on it also muted the radio/cd.
is this correct or was i imagining it ??
i ask the question because i'm sure they used to do this but don't now and the vehicles going in next week for various warranty electrical faults ..
any help would be grateful

Our freelander reduces the hifi volume when reverse is selected, where as the rangie does not.
