You can't really clean the insides properly unless you take the wheel off, its only 5 minutes work on and off then you can take the wheel inside by the fire and work on it there ?  .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

What a mess our wheels are in after 3 months of not cleaning them properly. Little black dots everywhere like pitting and not shifting with Bilberry, which seems like decent stuff but with limitations... Own fault though no time to have kept on top of them recently and now I think I will have to resort to Mr Muscle or a refurb!

Of course, to answer the question in the thread title...

The best wheel cleaner is somebody else...

Did mine yesterday, had brown deposits in the corners and black tar spots.
used white spirit to clean it all off, then poorboys alloy wheel wax.
came up a treat.

Well, I've resorted to tried and tested methods... Bought 2 cans of Mr Muscle oven cleaner... I have the Bilberry now so once MM has worked its magic, I will keep on top of things with Bilberry etc...

Just watched the wheel cleaning video Rangeyman... To be fair, I do have good clay bar but never thought of using it with or without the Bilberry as a lubricant.

I will give that a go with Bilberry before the MM!
