A few Questions regarding my L322 Td6

I have fitted a new EGR Valve December 2016 and when i turned the engine over there was a droning sound resonating down what seems to be the exhaust. Is this right? Is there something I have missed. This happens now every time i start the car.

The car is regularly serviced it has only done 3500 miles in the last year. However it seems to down on power. Although when in sport mode it moves.

Is there any thing i can do or is it a dealer job.

Any help would be really appreciated. I have even thought of having the car Remapped - Should i or Not.

Might be the Fuel Burning Heater kicking in when you start up? The FBH was standard on the TD6. John

Thanks for the reply.

The noise only happened after the new EGR was fitted. Does that make sense?

Wouldn't seem to be the FBH then. Are you sure all the connections for the EGR are in place and tight? John

I would have blanked the egr off, i did mine and was sure better plus no dirty recycled gases going back in the engine, i used a pro bitz tuning box as well and it flew no lag and better economy by a few miles Thumbs Up _____________________________________________________

I think blanking off the EGR will help the turbo to live longer too, as the variable vanes won't gunge up so easily.

Blanking the EGR. Did this not throw any faults?

Gentlemen,

I would like to thank you for your suggestions. Update.

Blanked the EGR and plugged the vacuum pipe and i have to say it has transformed the car. It has got its pulling power back.

Thanks again for all your help.

I assume that's on the Vogue and above models and not on all the TD6 models?
