That's some serious pull! Hard to see the wheels but that's alright.

Matt thanks for posting your pic. I think that color looks great. I'd like something perhaps a little lighter yet I think, but that looks better than stock to my eyes.

I've powder coated myself before and know the process. Problem with these stock wheels is they'd lose some definition I think. That and I'd prefer to hack away with light coats to see if I can get the shade I want.

I'd say just paint them black then light coats of silver till you get the effect you're looking for.

That is definitely the way to get a vibrant silver/gunmetal tones. I've not settled on the shade as I have to run some samples but I'm thinking a shade darker than stock and a satin finish. I don't want the rims to pop really just compliment the side vents and look more...aggressive I guess is the word. Seems like the design of the spokes would contrast better being a tad darker. I might experiment on my spare with some clear plasti-dip, drk grey metallic airbrush, and then clear over that with plasti-dip just to play around and get some samples down.

Which leads me to my next question.. What aggressive tires would you guys recommend for these wheels? I do a fair bit of fishing/hiking. Was looking at Nitto Terra Grapplers, Cooper Zeon LTZ,and Hankook Ventus ST's.

I was running 285/55/18 Hankook Ventus ST's on my last truck, a Nissan Navara (Frontier in the US) and have to say I found then really good and would be a front runner when I need to change on the FFRR.

I didn't do very much off roading with them but any time I was I found them good and both wet and dry road performance was very good, in my opinion far superior to the Pirelli Scorpion Zero's that were previously fitted, particularly on a tail happy RWD, which of course was great fun...... Very Happy

They look like a shade of Gunmetal Grey... they aren't a shadow chrome finish, not shiny enough Wink

Yes I know them but they always have a long wait time and don't often have courtesy cars!
