Hi Guys,

I've just picked my 06 RR SC up from the garage after having the gearbox oil and filter changed (correct ZF Lifeguard Fluid used) they also replaced the "Valve Sleeve" which allows the electrical connectors to pass from the inside of the box to the outside. and on the way home the dash lit up with various warnings about pretty much every system and it's defaulted to 2nd or 3rd gear...

I think it's going to be this electrical connector as the diagnostics are full of CANBUS errors - I wonder whether anyone has experienced similar or knows the failure symptoms of this connector being unplugged? 

Certainly worth checking that they’ve got the connector back in properly.

To be honest Dan I don’t have first-hand experience of this so I’m not sure. The workshop manual does give an indication of what view you get of it from underneath :

Got to be honest, mine is also a 06 sc and I did the oil and filter change and refilled with lifeguard in order to replace a leaky electrical sleeve.
Only the weeks to follow was the start of my trans failsafe and limp mode.
P0705 code and u0400/ u0402 in the instrument pack.
I've checked to ensure the sleeve was fit properly since and still get this failsafe.

I've booked mine in to valve bodies UK for investigation work and possible mechatronic rebuild.

Your issue above is the transmission solenoids. Replace them and all will be well.

OK, I reseated the plug and all was well for a day, thanks to Phil's picture above it is obvious the sleeve isn't seated fully as the gap is more like 5mm+

The problem came back on the way to the garage this morning, so hopefully will be resolved today.

I'm fairly confident the issue is just with the plug for me as the data log is full of canbus network errors. The twist lock doesn't seem to latch into place very firmly... I find it amazing that the clips for the stereo require 17 pairs of hands to get them to undo, yet the gearbox connector just screws on... 

Suprised the garage could push the retaining bracket for the electrical sleeve , 5mm is a lot . Glad you have a resolution to the problem though.
When you say the errors was all canbus , what does that mean?

The canbus network connects all the ECU's together, it's the data connection that they "talk" on. When errors occur, it logs the exact mileage when the error occurred. Mine was full of errors along the lines of "Canbus Communication Error with TCM" (transmission control module) suggesting it was disconnecting.
