painting stock rims dark grey

Has anyone seen these stock wheels painted in a darker grey color? I think they might look nice if similar to that side vent grey or a shade darker.

If anyone has the photoshop abilities I'd appreciate it.

Don't go too dark, these are my old rims on my 3.6 a couple of shades too dark, they are now on my disco where they look right.

Appreciate the feedback guys. The wheels just above are the ones I was thinking of buying. Thanks for posting them up. That color looks great! I do a fair amount of custom paint work on fishing lures and have urethane paint/clear along with the right setup just not ready to commit just yet ha. I do think my current rims would look better in that Anthracite/drk grey metallic. Too bad the gunmetal plastidip isn't gunmetal!

Previous owner had some kind of touch up done on the short panel below the side vent. Definitely a mistint but the shade is actually growing on me and I've been thinking of doing the other side and also maybe the short wide trim piece on the bottom of the hatch along with the horizontal bar on the lower front bumper. Real subtle in the rear but maybe a nice touch next to maybe one of those alum thresholds/steps on the bumper.. thoughts? Anyone custom painting their FATTIES?

I think that panel has come from another car another colour. .

I had my wheels done in Shadow Chrome.. they are a similar shade to the vents / grill and look better than std silver, plus they shine better... Oh and as it's also close to brake dust colour too, they take longer to look bad Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Could very well be but I've not seen this green on the road though. It looks like it's maybe a shade off and is a fine metallic.

Miggit that was my hope! The subtle brake dust look ha, maybe a little lighter than the 7 spokes above.

What brand is Shadow Chrome? What process did you use and do ya have any pics!?

Process... Wheel refurbishers! Shocked Evil or Very Mad

But most over here use the Mipa Vicrom over a black base coat, and then clear lacquer over the top Thumbs Up

I know mine were over a black base coat Rolling Eyes

I looked up that color and Plasti Dip has the same one. May have to get a can and do a trial wheel when it warms here. If I could go just two shades darker than stock that'd probably be enough for me.

Other thought was to mist in some single stage drk grey metallic with the airbrush and try to kind of antique them as well. Give them a little depth and maybe more subdued.

Mr. Green We've got ice and rain in the forecast whenever you have time. Thanks

Thanks for the pic.

That might be a little too much contrast against my Giverny Green. Ideadly a few shades lighter would be nice.

mine are lighter than those others... from what I gather it's either more Vicrom or more lacquer that makes them lighter, and I know they dry lighter

Mine need refurbing soon and I'm also torn between OEM silver or anthracite to match the trim.

I photoshopped the grey version but I still can't make my mind up! what do you guys think?
