Engine stats

Does anyone know where I can find some statistics on the two Diesel engines for the L405? Specifically I'm looking for those real world acceleration and braking figures e.g. 30-50mph, 50-70mph.

Many thanks.

SDV8 2015 had new torque converter and increase in torque to improve in gear performance, 50-70 mph being one of the bands. If I recall, the bhp remained about the same.

If you check back on Forum, I believe this has been covered.

Should have added Torque increased from 700N. to 740N.m (+ almost 6%)

Also the band of available torque changed to improve mid-range (eg overtaking) performance with no loss in mpg.

According to Land Rover, the SDV8 now has a “fuller torque curve from 1700 to 3300rpm thanks to detailed calibration changes. This improves in-gear acceleration by up to 6.5% from fifth to eighth gear, ensuring effortless overtaking ability and enhanced towing capability.”

For 2015, the 8-speed automatic transmission (ZF 8HP70) has also been re-engineered with a “revised torque converter incorporating a twin-spring damper.”
