Seat Foam Replacement

I was thinking of replacing the foam in my drivers seat as the side has collapsed just slightly. I thought this was going to be a super expensive part...

The whole seat base is only £37.38 according to Britpart, and not much different from LR. Bargain much:

Dimensions: 1cm x 53cm x 57cm ???

Which foam should that be? 1cm thick !

If the item lays on your kitchen table, please show us a pic!

Think, that this will be only the last layer and wonder, if there is any diolen fill between foam and leather... XJC, RRV8, Series1 86 and 107% of real pleasure

Stan, is there any chance of a write up on how to replace the foam / sensors? I'm curious to know how to get the seat cover off so I can put a new foam in.

Perfect timing. I have been thinking about getting my car into an upholsterer to get them to rebuild the seat. But thanks to dan_uk_1984 I have now ordered a new squab foam.
All we need now is as the TheAllSeeingPie mentioned is a writeup or better still a Wiki.

Yeah did it last night. You just need to take the side trims off and peel the leather off. Rather easy although the rings were a pig to fit back on. Seat feels a lot better but unfortunately I scratched the centre console piano black trim Big Cry

Good to know, thanks. If you don't get stuck then you are not trying hard enough.

Instead of refitting the rings could cable ties be used instead?

I'd recommend some hog ring pliers (around £12) so you don't have the fun I did doing it with normal pliers. Got the foam from Dan @ Duckworths
