tried the parasitic drain tests yesterday ,no chance even though i fooled the interior lights in to thinking the door was closed the alarm started beeping

Have you tried charging the battery up fully and then disconnecting the battery -ve terminal and then leaving the car overnight?

right i spent all yesterday checking all sorts of things the one thing i did,nt understand is the fan noise when you unlock car ,so did some tinternetin and found it to be fuel burning heater fan now im confused ,from what i understand you havto have this thing switched on with diagnostics i have aux heating on my screen but its not set on any time so why does the fan come on when you unlock car and how do you check if its working by the way after 30 mins meter showed no amp drain from battery

Sounds like there maybe an issue with the configuration.. might be time to read the hand book  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

had this issue on my fullfat I though it was the final stage resistor. but was not. locked the car and checked to see if the red lights turned off. they did.
ended up buying a new battery and guess what.

its under the battery tray if you have one fitted

The FBH was std on diesel cars, if you don't have one then it has been removed, rather than not fitted  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

How loud is the fan ? when you unlock your car and open the door you will always hear a fan that cools the ECU's just ahead of the front bulkhead behind the battery by drawing in air from the cabin. 2008 MY Supercharged

new battery and all good i dont think the fbh is working so the fan noise must be the ecu cooler as no fumes under wheel arch or pipes getting warm but around 3 to 5 seconds for glowplug light to go out so im happy with that i may just have a mess with the fbh when it gets warmer

I gave mine a run today... realised that the last time the engine had turned was Christmas day But it started without any worries  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
