Does anyone *know* (as opposed to having a view) if a non fault accident would have any effect on my insurance?

You do need to declare it as it will be registered on the national database if a claim was made. They should however not make any difference.

I understand that if you have an open claim when you see due to renew they load your policy until Non fault claim is complete and recorded. It happened to me one year.

If a claim isn't settled by renewal, 2 years of your NCB will not be applied. Not really a loading but an increase in cost, non the less.

LOL, this is actually for my work hack, not the Fatty. 11 year old diesel Skoda and they want 200 quid against 150 last year. The car's worth less than that with 215k on it |

Insurance contracts are subject to "ultimate good faith" so you will have to declare it. The insurer will decide what to do about your premium. This has happened to me twice and it did not seem to make much difference, but it is a nuisance in any event. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |
