How something that effectively DOUBLES the amount we will have to pay to tax an L322 TD6 can be classed as "anything non-RR related" is a bit strange ?

Without wishing to tempt fate! Pre 2006 cars are already 10+ years old. In terms of the broader car parc, the numbers will be small and diminishing over time. There is therefore probably a view that it costs more to change the system than leave it be.

Your business of course but I just could not pay the government over £25 just for the prviliedge of paying monthly. Understood that paying £500 upfront for the year is a bit eye watering but a £25 surcharge to pay monthly is taking the proverbial! I'm driving more and more miles on full electric in my Tesla-lite these days so if I'm working away or not using the FFRR I'll just SORN it and retax it on the 1st of the next month. In hindsight, I should have done this in December, I did a total of 9 miles in the month to buy and collect a Christmas tree! 2006 4.2 SC 2019 Renault Zoe Dynamique Nav |

Seems to me that most of us with 4.4tdv8 won't see much change as we're already in band L 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey
