Does SDD return any "pending" or "Not Tested" codes? Question

Thanks Hamlet! I might have to look into that more, it's just with the engine in place it's very difficult to get a good look at the loom. I'm going to try and get it back to the mechanics to see if we can have a look at it on a lift. Perhaps I might even bring it to a Land Rover Specialist! This should improve my chances of getting her fixed.

Mickey, how do I check pending errors. I'm not extremely familiar with SDD.

Video

So, I made this video tonight to show you all what is happening.

Notice the RPM gauge, it doesn't move. Should it? Is a malfunctioning crankshaft positioning sensor is responsible for this?
Notice how she nearly starts but doesn't.

I really hope I'm wrong and its just the video that makes it appear to be but that sounds to be spinning very fast - missing some compression in a few cylinders. The bit where i think you say its nearly starting to me sounds like its actually slowing a little due to the resistance of compression in good cylinders.

does it run on easy start? Current

I just find it so hard to believe it could fail like that. She was running perfect for 30 miles, then just stalled out pulling out a car parking space! Like a chain can't slip?

Surely it should seize if something was damaged.

I think I'd be doing a compression test before I did anything else, if nothing else just to rule it out.

Has the immobiliser code fault been rectified now ?
Without going back over the whole thread , what caused the engine to require a rebuild in the first place ?

I'm going to try and get a compression test done over the next number of days. How it could have failed without a big bang is beyond me. I really hope it is OK.

Is this an interference or non-interference engine?

The engine failed because an EGR valve failed and got sucked into the inlet, thus damaging two pistons. I have since replaced them and put all back together. It ran for 30 miles perfectly and then stalled one morning.

Regarding the Immobilizer fault, still not been rectified nor has the DS2 not reading correctly in the SSD

I'm thinking some kind of immobiliser problem. Have you spoken to Gap to see if they can help? ______________________________

I hope you are right RAR110. I'm going to email them today. I couldn't get the IID tool to read the live values from the Engine. Perhaps this is a sign of bad communication.

I can smell fuel out the back and see some white smoke? I'm going to undo one of the injectors next and see if they are getting fuel. Likewise, I'm going to do a compression test. Hopefully all will be well.

As an ex diesel tech, it sounds to me when it's turning over as though it only has compression on one cylinder.
The fact that you are getting fuel odour from the exhaust indicates that the fuel management system is functioning, but there is insufficient compression to ignite the fuel. I would be checking to see if both cam shafts are turning, or the valve timing
