Header Tank goes pop

At least it waited until I was pulling onto the drive before it let go.

Still, its an under £50 repair which I should be thankful for! Screws my weekend plans up though Big Cry

Gutted for you.

Mind you as you say in the scale of potential failures on the L322 could have been worse...

Good luck sorting it out.

Hi Dan,

It sounds like a very low drama way for the header tank to give up! So look on the bright side. It seems to be a matter of time on these as well, so at least it'll be off the list of problems waiting to happen!

Just been reading your lpg conversion thread, fantastic installation, can't beiieve how pristine your engine bay is! Sounds like you're getting much better fuel economy than me too. I'm just getting 200 miles out of a tank of lpg (around 71 litres). I need to have the lpg services, but I'm not convinced that the economy on petrol is much better.

The computer is showing 18mpg. I think I still need to do some work to get the engine right! Possibly a vacuum leak somewhere.

Cheers,

Not so clean now its all covered in coolant.

RANT:
I've always used Harwoods of Edenbridge for my parts, and have often suggested that people on here use them. Today they outright refused to sell me a header tank unless I collected it myself as I am a "private individual" even though they've posted things out to me in the past on numerous occasions. I said that I've used them in the past for mail order and he basically called me a liar.

So don't use these Censored !

I always use Guy Salmon in Stockport for my parts. The parts manager Craig Donnelly is always very helpful and will post out to you if need be. His number is 0161 474 7799. 06MY 4.4 V8 Autobiography Cairns Blue with Navy & Parchment Interior

Dan,

Speak to Nick (TLO - The Large One) Land Rover Yeovil's parts manager, site sponsor on the sister site Disco3.co.uk - Noone over there has a bad word to say about him, including me, and he should look after you on the price too Whistle
