L322 electronics driving me crazy!!!

Hello all,

I have come to my wits end with my 2003 RR Vogue, for some reason unknown to me that brattery drains tried a few things like making sure the heater control is off, Nav player turns off and gear selector indicator is off still to now avail, are there any electronic wizards around West London or know of anyway that could help save my sanity! Thanks in advance Thumbs Up

Any auto electrician can find a parasitic drain, it's pretty easy to do with a meter, nothing special about it being an FF... Thumbs Up Pete

Have you tried the Hevac panel? Since wiring mine to switch off when ignition off I have had no problem with battery drain. Can leave it a week now with no problem. Current: 2004 Vogue 4.4 V8 - 2004 Discovery 2

The final speed resister is usually a likely suspect. Search FSR on this forum

Have a Google for final stage resistor as that is most common fault, there is one method to replace below but I have heard of easier methods also probably on this forum.
http://www.rswsolutions.com/index.php/mkii...e-resistor
Check in Rave for which fuse supplies that and leave it out when not in the RR to see if that helps.
Also faulty headlight wipers not parking correctly so again pull the fuse, can sometimes be cured by taking the wipers off and operating them and then refitting

Be careful pulling fuses for radio / satnav as needs to shut down before disconnecting power
A fuse buddy can help to show current drain across a fuse when vehicle shut off, it connects in place of a fuse.

As others have said, first thing to look at would be the final stage resistor as it's such a common problem, also check your electrics in the boot, if there is any water ingress it needs sorted 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Thanks for the feedback guys! Well I bought a replacement FSR tried it, but still no luck! Checked the boot DVD and goes off when the cars shut, I did noticed a type of vacum sound coming from around the clock area when I close the car (while I'm inside) does anyone know if that's the problem or what that could be?

Might sound like a silly question but what is the Hevac panel?

Hevac HEating Ventilation Air Conditioning...

You don't need a wiring harness upgrade, you need a meter and a few hours to work through the system to find where your parasitic drain is, plenty of info on Google and videos on youtube to tell you how to do it...

Or just keep changing bits till it's gone, but that tends to cost a lot of money... Thumbs Up Pete

Cheers for getting back to me Pete, checked it with a volt meter and it turns up nothing so apparently there's no drain?? Can I repair my hevac unit or buy second hand and try for luck, if I disconnect the FSR what will happen? What actually does it do? If I leave it disconnected what effect does it have, cheers!

We hope you are using a meter, not across the terminals, but inline, with one terminal....on amps.
I don't want to lecture anyone, without brushing up on my skills, ( ages since doing this... on a p38) but I seem to remember that's the procedure, and you leave it on the bonnet, with it shut, (connected) and lock the car. -and observe it drop as it goes to sleep. Hopefully.
YouTube it
