Aux port upgrade

Hi guys first of all am sorry if this has already been covered.
I have a 54 vogue with the MOST entertainment system and would like to add a Aux port for music if it possible to get the wiring loom of an later model and intergrate them together if so what loom do I need and does the head unit need a software upgrade. Thanks in advance 👍 Bow down

Which one is MOST - I get confused - is that the BMW electronics ?

If so, then it's straightforward - not always cheap - but straightforward.

As far as I'm aware MOST is the fibre optic system that came in MY05 ish - not sure if its of BMW heritage or not.
Cheers Jon.

Sounds like the Ford system then

Sorry - no Idea - mine of that era had RSE which came with an Aux in, so I had no reason to play

Your best option for the MOST system with the Touchscreen is to fit the Auxiliary Connectivity Module (ACM). Dan at Duckworths has them at a more realistic price than the RRP Whistle

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic40270.html

I have just fitted this to my 2006MY FFRR and it works great Cool

A word of warning.........even though it is "plug & play" their is a little more installation work for 2005/2006 models, thats models with the touch screen but not the 2007MY with the revised dash/glove box.

The head unit on the 05/06 models is located behind the touchscreen which means the top of the dash has to come off Shocked you also have to get creative with the location of the ACM control module behind the glovebox as there is very little room and the recommended location for Aux input/usb unit itself doesn't work with the earlier glovebox design Rolling Eyes

Here's where I mounted mine:

Although the user manual states using a maximum 4gb memory stick I am testing a 32gb one, it does struggle to read everything but in random mode its definitely playing all the tracks Wink

As well as the aux input you also benefit from the iPod lead which I understand will charge too but I have yet to test that. The system emulates the CD buttons and you cannot scroll through folder lists as you can on the newer models but all in all a very worth while upgrade Thumbs Up

Although it should only take a couple of hours to install allow yourself a day just in case or longer if everything goes wrong like it did for me Big Cry

do you not have an 3.5mm aux port already in the rear of the centre cubby? I thought all the most equipped cars had this? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The earlier ones definitely didn't have it. I put in a system I got from Germany. Did a write up. Not sure when the aux port as standard came in. John
