Depends what you mean by "flat". It started mine when there wasn't enough juice in the battery to turn the starter. Just a click. Connected the Floureon and away it went.

No it won't - certainly a cold 3.6 TDV8 without a battery connected..... see the comment from Phil Bathhurst halfway down.

Alistair, Curious about the "no battery connected" comment. I wouldn't try using any jump starter without a battery connected?? John

YES it will start a flat 3-6 as ive used it on mine once when there wasn't even a dash-light _____________________________________________________

My Snap On booster pack won't start my Td V8 3.6 from flat but will start next doors BMW X5 3.0d from flat as I found out yesterday. Started first go and there was less than 9 volts in the BMW battery. |

Well, on a sample of 1........ The more I think about it, I realise that even a 'dead' battery is probably better than none..... a 'dead' battery may still be giving out more than say 9 volts ? |
