Power pack/jump Starter

Hi,

Used the search function and Been looking through the posts as its that time of year and looking for a Power pack/Jump starter, seems Scottyav recommended the "XS PowerPack" a while back and was endorsed by Ironhorse which is good enough for me Thumbs Up

http://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/land-rove...torch.html

Just wondering if anything new/better is available out there now?,

If anyone has any info would be good to know before I pull the trigger on the "XS PowerPack DA1239"( if they're still available),

Also any tips on cheapest place to buy of course Whistle

Depends what you mean by "flat". It started mine when there wasn't enough juice in the battery to turn the starter. Just a click. Connected the Floureon and away it went.

There are several Floueons it appears. The one recommended is T3 18000mAh. John

No it won't - certainly a cold 3.6 TDV8 without a battery connected..... see the comment from Phil Bathhurst halfway down.

Mine started a Mini Cooper S with a completely dead battery, but a big diesel is a different proposition.....

Alistair, Curious about the "no battery connected" comment. I wouldn't try using any jump starter without a battery connected?? John

My Snap On booster pack won't start my Td V8 3.6 from flat but will start next doors BMW X5 3.0d from flat as I found out yesterday. Started first go and there was less than 9 volts in the BMW battery.

It's a fair pint - neither would I - but simply referring to another members posting - not something I've tried or would particularly recommend

Well, on a sample of 1........

The more I think about it, I realise that even a 'dead' battery is probably better than none..... a 'dead' battery may still be giving out more than say 9 volts ?
