I'm a big fan of the SDV8, but given your parameters, I'd be seriously looking at a 5.0.

They look to be holding up, but maybe that's cause the 405 is still a relatively 'new' model. |

I love the idea of the SC but the SDV8 makes such a strong case for its self. Imo its more than fast enough would i need more? Its very torquey which will suit the RRFF more? It uses half the fuel nearly. Where i live Diesel costs less. The car costs less to buy. Imo it still a great engine. |

I'm also going to change next year and thinking exactly the same 5.0SC or 4.4TDV8 even though my V6 is perfectly adequate I'm still hankering after more oomph.

I had an sc on demo a while back, did a couple of longish trips and got around 21mpg wheres driven in a similar semi spirited manner, my sdv8 would do 33mpg. Its not so much the mpg though its the rubbish range of the petrol... if I had one I'd be in the petrol garage near enough every other day which I know would do my fruit after not long! Everyone needs to experience the SC. Mine was a 2006 MY. Loved the V8 sound and acceleration. Go for it PP MY23 D350 HSE

I didn't want to mention the acceleration from any speed or the stability at an indicated 165mph on the autobahn. Might influence the outcome!
