Driver's external door pull.

After a long weekend at the NEC I came back to the Rangey and, being in a knackered state, made the mistake of pulling the door handle at the same moment as I unlocked the door on the remote. So now the door handle cable has either disengaged or broken. Which is it most likely to be? I don't want to dismantle it twice ideally but neither do I want to buy a cable I may not need!

if the inside handle still works then the outter cable has broken.. ... - .- -.
