United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover SE Td6 Zermatt Silver

December 2007 (57) Range Rovers are selling for £35k + at Main Dealers and these cars cost less than the current 2010 Model which also a major facelift. If you expect the equivewlent 2010 Model car to be less than £35000 at a Main Dealer at 3 years old then I believe you will be lucky.

2009 Registered 2010 model cars may be around that figure earlier of course. IMHO. Thumbs Up

Last three Range Rovers I have purchased were all less than 1/2 original list retail price and no older than 2yrs with average mileage.

Maybe but show me a two year old (Late 2008) Range Rover available now at £35K Question

NO

As we are all well aware there is presently a shortage of any 2008MY Range Rovers at this time and because of a number of other factors (winter weather etc) - those that are available are commanding high prices - so I do understand your point there Gazellio...

...however, I think the original point being made was for purchasing a 2 yr old 4.4TDV8 (when that time comes)...

(as Fox has already mentioned) in 2 years (especially with the launch of the newer styled Range Rover) I do not believe finding a good quality, pre-owned with average mileage 4.4 TDV8 for around half the original list price would be impossible - that said, I think the average retail prices of these vehicles have risen by approx. £10K because of all the gadgets which have been added since 2008MY to 2010MY - therefore I would assume £40K would be a more realistic figure for a good spec 2yr old example.

Only my opinion, of course (looking forward to proving my point) Thumbs Up

It's maybe just me, but I'm really not bothered about the L405. Much rather have the FFRR (At the moment). I have a D3 so can't justify having another 7 seater, and I like the bulkiness of the FFRR, as from what I have heard It's smaller. Not really sure which I prefer? But does look good.

having owned and run Land Rovers and Range Rovers for over 35 years, I have had the benefit of seeing prices rise and fall and also the economy with it, and several recessions in the meantime.

On average history has taught me that in more normal times a 24 month RR can be bought for around half price of new, 12 month old ones saving around 35%, and on ex demo current models up to £10k savings. The exceptions to this being was when the Classic was launched in the 1970's and you could literally make money buying a new one and re selling it 6 months, 12 months or even 10 years later for more than the car cost new.

The market is also slightly distorted at the moment and has been for 2 years - it will though level out - and prices of current models, especially the later ones will take a plunge when the new model is out - exactly as they did when the P38 and L322 was launched.

Anybody seen how Sporty values are going?????????????? there was a lot of those registered in the 05 /06 period.

The RRS seems very reluctant to drop much under the £20k mark. -Michael

Nice!

So you bought it very well at 2 and a half years old and it was still over 50% of the cost when new. Interesting.

Looks like I may have a little longer to wait.
